A couple walking out for their daily newspaper in Owen County, Kentucky, discovered a body instead on May 6, 1988.
She was unclothed except for men’s socks, and her left hand was partially missing.
A medical examiner determined that she had been strangled days earlier, and was between 25 and 40 years old.
Her upper arm had a tattoo of the name “Steve”.
Authorities now believe she may have family or ties to Columbus, Ohio or south Florida. Though, details on how they came to this conclusion have not been released.
The Texas Rangers Evidential Art & Facial Identification provided an updated composite of Jane Doe.
