Missing Celia Sweeney Remains Found in SC

Celia Marie Sweeney was reported missing from Charleston, SC by friends and family on February 28th. The 28 year old female was originally from Massachusetts, and the plates on her missing black Audi were as well.

After commencing a search, police did locate the car, but the search for Sweeney continued for three days.

Sweeney Remains Found in South Carolina Home

A person of interest was identified in Spartanburg, the mountainous upstate of SC, about 200 miles away from Charleston coast. A welfare check of his house found both the person of interest and Sweeney dead. Sweeney’s body was found in a “Husky” container on the property.

Celia Sweeney Cause Of Death Reported

While we do not know how long they had been deceased, we do know Sweeney was beaten and her cause of death appears to be blunt force trauma.

The (deceased) person of interest and resident of the address was identified as Buddy Allen Carr. Carr had shot himself in the home.


Second Arrest in Sweeney’s Murder

There has been a second unexpected arrest in the murder of Celia Marie Sweeney. Mark Dwayne Walton, 36, has been charged as an acces after the fact with bond of half a million dollars.Police now say after checking on Celia the day co-workers and friends reported her missing, they found evidence of a struggle inside her apartment including considerable blood. It is unclear if this is what linked the suspect at this time.

It could have also been the single gun cartridge and casing found in her apartment or her car found abandoned before her body was located.
