Saturday, May 18th, 2019 New Jersey State Police will hold their 3rd annual Missing In New Jersey event. It will be held at Rutgers-Newark School of Criminal Justice from 1pm-5pm.
New Jersey families will be able to help solve missing person cases by providing data such as x-rays, fingerprints and other biometrics.
In 2017 a woman aided in her brother being identified. He has passed away seven years prior in Florida. The year after, another woman was reunited with her brother. For those who are unsure about their background can submit DNA.
Though most people reported missing in New Jersey are later located, around 100 out of the 14,000 every year are not.
The Missing In New Jersey event is free and requires no identification. A candlelight celebration will be held at 4P.M for families of those still missing.As always, Case Ravel recommends that all missing persons be entered into NamUs. As of May 15, 2019 there are 305 people listed as missing and 401 people unidentified, on NamUs.
